No Limits Academy Seattle

Serving in West Seattle to shape the next generation of purpose-driven athletes to compete with heart, lead with integrity, and make a lasting impact.
OUR MISSION
At NLA we are striving to cultivate an environment in the communities of West Seattle, Burien, and White Center that allows the players to be pushed and challenged while feeling empowered. We believe that a player's basketball journey has many similarities to one's journey through life. We focus on building confidence, resiliency, grit, mental toughness, and character to our players by creating a culture/system that gives players real opportunities to practice those values.

Philosophy/Values

Belief and Manifestation
Our NLA coaches strongly emphasize the need to believe in a desired outcome. Actively visualizing an outcome can give a player a chance to break through their current limitations and grow beyond expectations.
Resiliency/Competition
At NLA, we seek and thrive on challenges. We believe that creating a competitive environment is necessary to mimic game-like situations.
Response
Everyone makes mistakes, but not everyone is taught to perceive and respond to mistakes. We welcome an environment that encourages players to push beyond their limitations and make mistakes. With this mindset, NLA Coaches are able to guide players to create self-realizations and recognition of their own areas of growth.

*NLA Creed*

Basketball/AAU is already hard as it is not being able to control playing time, shots falling, referees, opponent skill level, to name a few. We must give ourselves every advantage we can get, which starts with the areas that are controllable: Your mindset, stretching/mobility, understanding the relationship of food and performance, getting proper sleep/rest.
There are items listed above (eating clean, proper rest, stretching) that are things players should keep themselves accountable to outside of NLA practices. At NLA practices, we will be keeping players accountable in the following 3 areas:
- Did I put in my best effort?- How good was my attitude? - Was I a good teammate?
Below is our NLA Creed that we will be upholding all our players to follow: A) I will cultivate a growth mindset that inspires me to thrive (Effort & Attitude) 1. I will embrace every moment with no excuses. 2. I will welcome feedback and embrace change. 3. I will approach challenges with confidence, knowing mistakes are opportunities to learn. 4. I will stay positive even through mistakes. 5. I will prioritize proper form over results, knowing it leads to future results 6. I will be patient and trust the process B) I will be a great player/teammate/global citizen (Good Teammate) 7. I will honor and respect my coaches. 8. I will actively listen and engage when my coaches are speaking. 9. I will practice what I’ve learned at home. 10. I will uplift/pick up others when they’re feeling down. 11. I will be vocal and loud.
